At Halcyon Historical Park, we offer a wide range of Sustainability classes and exsperinces. classes on Solar power systems. solar hot water systems. A fundimental understanding of sustainability and climate change. We Belive that interduction to Solar power tecnolagy should be avalable to any age. At Halcyon Historical Park we Belive Solar power systems training should start at 7th Grade when Students Learn Algabra. Are Solar power classes are the Flagship classes of Halcyon Historical Park. Learn about Grid tie systems. Off grid systems, electrical systems. Transfer switches. Battery systems and general system engineering and concepts. We Plan on Giving a full family class to set up a Private Off grid/ battery system for home and family use. Solar panels can go in windows, on balcony or any were in the yard. The magic of the solar panel is it will produce power when it is in the sunlight.
At Halcyon Historical Park, we believe in giving back to the community. That's why we're involved in a variety of community outreach programs and events, from Community Bird watching club, community gardens, to partnering with schools to provide outdoor education programs. Were Ecology and Biodiversity Have Value in Our community. We're proud to be a part of the community and are committed to making it a better place for everyone.
Our Carbon Negative Mature Ecosystem is over 80yr old. from a Chery Orchard before WW2. to the beginning of Halcyon The first and oldest trees were Planted at the beginning of 1940 The butterfly bushes that provide food for the Monarch Butterflies and endangered Migrating Birds were planted over 15 years ago They take up over %30 of the park space but provide almost unlimited supply of food for monarch Butterflies and a supply of Organic bugs for migrating birds to refuel on there way across the bay area.. You can Take a walk through are Bird Sanctuary and enjoy the variety of Bird species and enjoy the company of the dense Monarch butterfly population. Every Morning the Bird population sings to the park and outer community.
